I am a Junior FTVM major at the University of Michigan! I am the Operations Management Intern at the Ann Arbor Film Festival this year. In my free time, I enjoy exploring the U of M campus with my friends, and making films!
What are you most looking forward to doing in your new position?
I am most looking forward to helping the entire festival come together, so everyone can enjoy the week of the film festival!
What's your go-to comfort film?
Pretty in Pink
If you could hang out with any filmmaker who would it be and what would you do?
If I could hangout with a filmmaker for a day it would be Tim Burton! I have loved all of his films growing up from Nightmare Before Christmas, Alice in Wonderland, and Charlie in the Chocolate Factory. I probably would want to come to set with him and see his creative process when it comes to the projects he works on, especially the show Wednesday that he has just worked on!

Hello! I am Ricky Grossman and I am originally from South Africa, but I live in California now. I am a sophomore at the University of Michigan, and I have a passion for film!
What are you most looking forward to doing in your new position?
I am realy looking forward to connecting with people interested in film and experiencing the world of experimental cinema! I have really enjoyed dealing with the sponsorships so far, and I am excited to continue my work!
What's your go-to comfort film?
I really love Election (1999) and I basically just put it on every time I need a good laugh or anything like that.
If you could hang out with any filmmaker who would it be and what would you do?
I think I would choose Paul Thomas Anderson because a lot of his movies are really fun and I think he would be a very intersting person to talk to. I would love to just pick any random movie and go see it with him and then talk about the film after.
