Endangered Campaign ~ Acts of Audacity
As a testament to our extreme dedication to the success of the AAFF's Endangered campaign, we at the Ann Arbor Film Festival will perform Acts of Audacity, as determined by supporters of the campaign. These acts will be documented, edited and posted online for the world to witness.
Performed: December 7, 2007
Where: Ann Arbor, Michigan
Goal #2 Reached : $35,000
Act of Audacity #2 ~
Giant Animal Badminton
The AAFF's Endangered campaign supporters voted for Giant Animal Badminton* and so we wrangled two of Detroit's finest roller derby girls - Black Eyed Skeez & Crash Baby - for a smashing game of winter badminton. We had a caffeinated referee, space shuttlecock boy, and a "giant" animal badminton ringer: Trevor the Rat. The event took place December 7, 2007 on the volleyball court of Alpha Delta Phi in Ann Arbor, MI.
* Giant Animal Badminton won the voting by a comfortable margin over Singing in the Rain recreated with super-soakers and leading a public street protest against uninspired cinema.
Performed: October 17, 2007
Where: Ann Arbor, Michigan
Goal #1 Reached : $10,000
Act of Audacity #1 ~
Glam Rock Karaoke
Our campaign supporters chose glam rock* and so we shook the streets of Ann Arbor. There were wigs, wild outfits, killer looks, over-dramatic dance moves and many awed passersby. Favorite performer? Dance move? Let us know with your comments on YouTube.
* Glam rock karaoke narrowly won over urban tobogganing, with finger puppets recreating famous movie scenes finishing respectably in third place
Act of Audacity #3 ~ Deadline to vote January 16th
