The Ann Arbor Film Festival is now accepting applications for interns for our 56th season! We are hoping to onboard interns on a rolling basis between now and the fall, and are accepting applications for internships beginning both in the summer and the fall semester.

Marketing Assistant (Internship)
 
The position requires a commitment of 12-15 hour per week. Responsibilities include drafting blog and newsletter articles, maintaining the festival’s online social media presence, coordinating marketing surveys, and handling certain PR duties. The Marketing Intern will work closely with the AAFF Executive Director and will have opportunities to pitch creative marketing solutions. Other assignments may be given depending on candidate interest and organizational need.
 
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and dependable individual who enjoys working with others and has an outgoing personality with excellent communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, highly organized, willing to learn, and possess a keen interest in experiencing the world of non-profit media/visual arts. The candidate must have experience in both research and writing, which are essential aspects of the internship.
 
All interns receive a full pass for Festival week, March 20-25, 2018, and are expected to be on hand both to assist with a wide range of tasks, as well as to watch films. Interns are asked to assist for extended hours during festival week. During this time, the Marketing Intern will continue involvement in maintaining a strong social media presence, as well as be responsible for the execution of the marketing survey, and may work in collaboration with the Volunteer Coordinator to carry it through. Feedback and reflections in the form of a “wrap report” is the final assignment.
 
Compensation is available as college credit.

Development Assistant (Internship)
 
The position requires a commitment of 12-15 hour per week. Major responsibilities include assisting the AAFF Executive Director with the AAFF sponsorships program and ad sales. This includes maintaining effective and timely communication with sponsors and ensuring that deadlines for sponsor payments and advertisements are met. The Development Assistant will also have the opportunity to research new prospective sponsors and advertisers. Aiding the Executive Director and the Marketing Assistant in maintaining PR duties will also be a priority. Other assignments may be given depending on candidate interest and organizational need.
 
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and dependable individual who enjoys working with others and has an outgoing personality with excellent communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, highly organized, willing to learn, and possess a keen interest in experiencing the world of non-profit media/visual arts. Maintaining consistent records, detailed explanations and open communication with partnering organizations is an essential aspect of the internship.
 
All interns receive a full pass for Festival week, March 20-25, 2018, and are expected to be on hand during Festival week both to assist with a wide range of tasks, as well as to watch films. During this time, the Development Assistant will continue to support the sponsorship program as a point of contact and will help with other tasks as needed. Directly after the Festival, the Development Assistant will assist in follow up mailings to sponsors. Feedback and reflections in the form of a “wrap report” is the final assignment.
 
Compensation is available as college credit.

Membership & Outreach Assistant (Internship)
 
The Ann Arbor Film Festival is looking for a Membership & Outreach Assistant to assist with the planning and execution of special outreach events leading up to and during the 56th Ann Arbor Film Festival. The position requires a commitment of 12-15 hour per week. This intern will work closely with the AAFF Staff and will serve as part of the membership committee. This intern must be available to attend the monthly committee meetings and will head student outreach efforts. Responsibilities will also include monitoring memberships and acting as a point of contact for AAFF members. Other assignments may be given depending on candidate interest and organizational need.
 
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and dependable individual who enjoys working with others and has an extremely outgoing personality with excellent in-person and over-the-phone communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, highly organized, willing to learn, and possess a keen interest experiencing the world of non-profit media/visual arts.
 
All interns receive a full pass for Festival week, March 20-25, 2018, and are expected to be on hand both to assist with a wide range of tasks, as well as to watch films. Interns are asked to assist for extended hours during festival week, helping make the 56th AAFF run smoothly. Feedback and reflections in the form of a “wrap report” is the final assignment.

Video Production Assistant (Internship)
 
The Ann Arbor Film Festival is looking for a Video Production Assistant. This internship position requires a commitment of 12-15 hour per week. Responsibilities may include filming and editing video interviews, handling film print traffic, and still and video documentation of the 56th AAFF. The intern will work closely with the Associate Director of Programs and Tech Director to help program the tour and DVD. This intern will act as a member of the screening cadre for the 56th AAFF submissions. Other assignments may be given depending on candidate interest and organizational need.
 
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and dependable individual who enjoys working with others and has an outgoing personality with excellent communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, highly organized, willing to learn, and possess a keen interest experiencing the world of non-profit media/visual arts. While basic experience is required in shooting and editing video, as well as interviewing, the candidate will have the opportunity to build on their knowledge and skills in these areas.
 
All interns receive a full pass for Festival week, March 20-25, 2018, and are expected to be on hand both to assist with a wide range of tasks, as well as to watch films. Interns are asked to assist for extended hours during festival week. During this time, the Intern will work very closely with the Tech Director to make sure things run smoothly. Feedback and reflections in the form of a “wrap report” is the final assignment.

Festival Operations Assistant (Internship)
 
The Ann Arbor Film Festival is looking for a Festival Operations Intern. This internship position requires a commitment of 12-15 hour per week. The intern will work closely with the Operations Manager to help coordinate all aspects of festival operations. Responsibilities will be assisting with the fulfillment of online sales and merchandise orders, maintenance of the submissions process and databases, and acting as a point of contact for DVD sales to libraries and other institutions. Other assignments may be given depending on candidate interest and organizational need.
 
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and dependable individual who enjoys working with others and has an outgoing personality with excellent communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, highly organized, willing to learn, and possess a keen interest experiencing the world of non-profit media/visual arts.
 
All interns receive a full pass for Festival week, March 20-25, 2018, and are expected to be on hand both to assist with a wide range of tasks, as well as to watch films. Interns are asked to assist for extended hours during festival week. During the festival, this intern will work closely with the Operations Manager to manage will call and ticket booth processes. Graphic Design Assistant (Internship)
 
The Ann Arbor Film Festival is looking for a Graphic Design Intern. This internship position requires a commitment of 12-15 hour per week. Responsibilities will include creating marketing collateral that matches the brand identity of the 56th AAFF, designing print and web advertisements, as well as the creation of miscellaneous graphics as needed. The intern will also have the opportunity to act as a member of the screening cadre for 56th submissions. Other assignments may be given depending on candidate interest and organizational need.
 
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and dependable individual who enjoys working with others and has an outgoing personality with excellent communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, highly organized, willing to learn, and possess a keen interest experiencing the world of non-profit media/visual arts. The ideal candidate should have design experience for both print and digital. Web design experience is a definite plus!
 
All interns receive a full pass for Festival week, March 20-25, 2018, and are expected to be on hand both to assist with a wide range of tasks, as well as to watch films. Interns are asked to assist for extended hours during festival week. During this time, the Graphic Design Intern will assist with Festival upkeep and likely help the Marketing Assistant with social media content. Feedback and reflections in the form of a “wrap report” is the final assignment.

Tour Manager (Internship)
 
The Ann Arbor Film Festival is looking for an intern to act as Tour Manager for the 55th AAFF tour. This internship position requires a commitment of 12-15 hour per week. Responsibilities will include working closely with the AAFF staff to contact past tour stops and prospective venues for bookings, coordinate the tour schedule, manage tour documents and promotional downloads, and coordinate invoices. Other assignments may be given depending on candidate interest and organizational need.
 
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and dependable individual who enjoys working with others and has an outgoing personality with excellent communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, highly organized, willing to learn, and possess a keen interest experiencing the world of non-profit media/visual arts.

During this time, this intern will work with the Outreach Assistant in their efforts, as well as acting as a support for the rest of the AAFF Staff.
