The Ann Arbor Film Festival is now accepting applications for interns for our 56th season! We are hoping to onboard interns on a rolling basis between now and the fall, and are accepting applications for internships beginning both in the summer and the fall semester.

Membership & Outreach Assistant (Internship)
 
The Ann Arbor Film Festival is looking for a Membership & Outreach Assistant to assist with the planning and execution of special outreach events leading up to and during the 56th Ann Arbor Film Festival. The position requires a commitment of 12-15 hour per week. This intern will work closely with the AAFF Staff and will serve as part of the membership committee. This intern must be available to attend the monthly committee meetings and will head student outreach efforts. Responsibilities will also include monitoring memberships and acting as a point of contact for AAFF members. Other assignments may be given depending on candidate interest and organizational need.
 
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and dependable individual who enjoys working with others and has an extremely outgoing personality with excellent in-person and over-the-phone communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, highly organized, willing to learn, and possess a keen interest experiencing the world of non-profit media/visual arts.
 
All interns receive a full pass for Festival week, March 20-25, 2018, and are expected to be on hand both to assist with a wide range of tasks, as well as to watch films. Interns are asked to assist for extended hours during festival week, helping make the 56th AAFF run smoothly. Feedback and reflections in the form of a “wrap report” is the final assignment.
 
Compensation is available as college credit.

Video Production Assistant (Internship)
 
The Ann Arbor Film Festival is looking for a Video Production Assistant. This internship position requires a commitment of 12-15 hour per week. Responsibilities may include filming and editing video interviews, handling film print traffic, and still and video documentation of the 56th AAFF. The intern will work closely with the Associate Director of Programs and Tech Director to help program the tour and DVD. This intern will act as a member of the screening cadre for the 56th AAFF submissions. Other assignments may be given depending on candidate interest and organizational need.
 
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and dependable individual who enjoys working with others and has an outgoing personality with excellent communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, highly organized, willing to learn, and possess a keen interest experiencing the world of non-profit media/visual arts. While basic experience is required in shooting and editing video, as well as interviewing, the candidate will have the opportunity to build on their knowledge and skills in these areas.
 
All interns receive a full pass for Festival week, March 20-25, 2018, and are expected to be on hand both to assist with a wide range of tasks, as well as to watch films. Interns are asked to assist for extended hours during festival week. During this time, the Intern will work very closely with the Tech Director to make sure things run smoothly. Feedback and reflections in the form of a “wrap report” is the final assignment.

Festival Operations Assistant (Internship)
 
The Ann Arbor Film Festival is looking for a Festival Operations Intern. This internship position requires a commitment of 12-15 hour per week. The intern will work closely with the Operations Manager to help coordinate all aspects of festival operations. Responsibilities will be assisting with the fulfillment of online sales and merchandise orders, maintenance of the submissions process and databases, and acting as a point of contact for DVD sales to libraries and other institutions. Other assignments may be given depending on candidate interest and organizational need.
 
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and dependable individual who enjoys working with others and has an outgoing personality with excellent communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, highly organized, willing to learn, and possess a keen interest experiencing the world of non-profit media/visual arts.
 
All interns receive a full pass for Festival week, March 20-25, 2018, and are expected to be on hand both to assist with a wide range of tasks, as well as to watch films. Interns are asked to assist for extended hours during festival week. During the festival, this intern will work closely with the Operations Manager to manage will call and ticket booth processes. Feedback and reflections in the form of a “wrap report” is the final assignment.

Graphic Design Assistant (Internship)
 
The Ann Arbor Film Festival is looking for a Graphic Design Intern. This internship position requires a commitment of 12-15 hour per week. Responsibilities will include creating marketing collateral that matches the brand identity of the 56th AAFF, designing print and web advertisements, as well as the creation of miscellaneous graphics as needed. The intern will also have the opportunity to act as a member of the screening cadre for 56th submissions. Other assignments may be given depending on candidate interest and organizational need.
 
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and dependable individual who enjoys working with others and has an outgoing personality with excellent communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, highly organized, willing to learn, and possess a keen interest experiencing the world of non-profit media/visual arts. The ideal candidate should have design experience for both print and digital. Web design experience is a definite plus!
 
All interns receive a full pass for Festival week, March 20-25, 2018, and are expected to be on hand both to assist with a wide range of tasks, as well as to watch films. Interns are asked to assist for extended hours during festival week. During this time, the Graphic Design Intern will assist with Festival upkeep and likely help the Marketing Assistant with social media content. Feedback and reflections in the form of a “wrap report” is the final assignment.

Tour Manager (Internship)
 
The Ann Arbor Film Festival is looking for an intern to act as Tour Manager for the 55th AAFF tour. This internship position requires a commitment of 12-15 hour per week. Responsibilities will include working closely with the AAFF staff to contact past tour stops and prospective venues for bookings, coordinate the tour schedule, manage tour documents and promotional downloads, and coordinate invoices. Other assignments may be given depending on candidate interest and organizational need.
 
The successful applicant will be a highly motivated and dependable individual who enjoys working with others and has an outgoing personality with excellent communication skills. The candidate should be attentive to detail, highly organized, willing to learn, and possess a keen interest experiencing the world of non-profit media/visual arts.
