Amanda Katz

Amanda Katz uses film, photography, and sound to explore and connect to her surrounding environment. She works professionally as a documentary film editor, and currently teaches 16mm filmmaking at the Mono No Aware workshops in Brooklyn, NY. Amanda has been an assistant professor for documentary filmmaking and urban arts courses at New York University's New York and Paris locations, and has worked with filmmaker Lynne Sachs both academically and on her most recent film Your Day Is My Night. Amanda has embarked with her filmmaking partner Anthony Svatek in creating her first feature film about the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway, entitled The BQE Project.
