Ben Popp

Ben Popp is an animator and educator working primarily with 16mm film which he then hand processes. Sometimes the films are transferred and finished on video, sometimes they remain on film. Along with making films, Ben is also co-director and founder of Grand Detour, a micro-cinema dedicated to brining experimental film, video and new media to the people of Portland. Ben is also co-directing the first annual Experimental Film Festival happening this May 2012. When he is not curating and making films, Ben teaches animation and video production to kids ranging in all ages at various schools and organizations throughout town.
